Compared with local agencies

Greater Cincinnati has good agencies. Published starting prices we found ran from about $1,500 for a simple site to $3,500 to $7,500 for bigger builds, and one West Chester firm lists an average project of about $11,000. Their monthly search and care plans commonly start around $250 and run past $500.

Where we're different: we only build for small local businesses, so we keep the scope tight and the price fixed. You get a working preview with your real content before any deposit, a client page where you post announcements and change prices yourself, and free online booking. The Care Plan is $89 a month with no contract.

When an agency is the better call: if you need paid ad management, a large custom web app, a brand identity from scratch, or a team on call for a multi-location company, a full-service agency is built for that.

Compared with Wix, Squarespace and GoDaddy

Builders are the cheapest way to get online. Squarespace runs $16 to $52 a month and Wix $17 to $39 on the plans most small businesses use, billed yearly. GoDaddy's builder starts at $9.99 a month, and its design team will set up a first version for a one-time fee starting at $499.

The catch is the work after the template: writing pages that answer what customers actually ask, setting up your Google Business Profile so Maps shows the right hours, making photos load fast on a cell signal, and keeping it all current. Owners who are short on time often end up with a site that's half finished or out of date.

Where we're different: we write it, build it, connect Google, and check it every month. You still get the easy part of a builder, changing hours, prices and announcements yourself, without the rest landing on you. And because the site isn't locked to a builder, you can download a full copy any time.

When a builder is the better call: if you enjoy doing it yourself, have a few spare evenings, and need to keep costs as low as possible, start with a builder. We'll be here if it outgrows you.

Compared with no-money-down subscriptions

Several local and national companies build your site for $0 down and a monthly fee, usually $99 to $249 a month on a 12 or 24 month term. Some national marketing companies add a setup fee and don't publish prices at all.

That can work if cash is tight. Read the contract for three things: how long you're locked in, whether you own the design or only license it, and what it takes to move your site and domain if you leave.

Where we're different: you pay for the build once, you own it from launch, and the Care Plan is month to month.

For restaurants and appointment businesses

Booking tools are often a second bill on top of the website. OpenTable's restaurant plans start at $149 a month plus per-guest fees. Square Appointments runs $0 to $149 a month per location. Restaurant platforms that bundle a website with online ordering, such as Owner.com, run $249 to $499 a month.

On our sites, online booking is included at no extra cost. Restaurants get table reservations with seat limits and table times. Salons, offices and trades get appointment types with their own lengths. Times run in 15 minute steps within your hours, staff can manage the day from a tablet, and every booking comes with a calendar invite showing the name, phone, email, what it's for and any notes.

When a dedicated platform is the better call: if you need diner discovery through a national app, deposits for every booking, or a full ordering and delivery system, those tools do more than a website can.

Common cost questions

How much does a small business website cost in the Cincinnati area?

Published starting prices from Cincinnati-area firms run from about $1,500 for a simple 1 to 5 page site to $3,500 to $7,500 for larger builds, with custom projects at $10,000 and up. Monthly care or search plans commonly run $250 to $600. We start at $1,500 for a Storefront site and $89 a month for the Care Plan.

Is Wix or Squarespace cheaper than hiring a local web designer?

Month to month, yes. The trade is your time: you write, design, set up Google and keep it current yourself.

Are monthly website subscriptions with no upfront cost a good deal?

They spread the cost out, which helps cash flow. Over three years a $99 to $249 subscription costs $3,564 to $8,964, and some only license the design to you. Our Storefront plus Care Plan is $4,704 over three years, and you own the site from launch.

Do restaurants need to pay for a separate reservation system?

Not with us. Online reservations and appointment booking are included on sites we build. Standalone reservation software starts around $149 a month plus per-guest fees.

How we got these numbers

Local agency and subscription ranges come from the published price lists of web design firms serving Greater Cincinnati and Butler County, checked in October 2026. We don't name them because prices change and every firm quotes differently. Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, OpenTable, Square Appointments and Owner.com prices are their published plan prices as of October 2026, billed yearly where that option exists, before taxes, promotions and transaction fees. Check each company's site for current pricing. Three-year totals leave out domain names, which cost about the same everywhere.
